We are looking for new Board Members to join Semiahmoo Family Place!

To further advance the mission and impact of Semiahmoo Family Place (SFP), we are seeking exceptional individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and expertise in: finance and accounting, legal, non-profit leadership, fundraising, grant writing, marketing and public relations, technology/IT, healthcare and public health, education, human resources, social work and social services, corporate and business leadership, government and policy, philanthropy, arts and culture, and community development.

Your experience and insights will play a crucial role in guiding SFP’s strategic direction, governance, and the continued growth of our programs. We believe that a diverse and multidisciplinary board will enrich our organization’s decision-making processes and enable us to better serve our community. Volunteer Position Overview:

We are seeking exceptional individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board Members play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of Semiahmoo Family Place, ensuring its continued success and growth. This is an opportunity for experienced professionals and community leaders to contribute their expertise, knowledge, and passion to a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and insight to guide the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
  • Governance: Actively participate in regular board meetings, decision-making processes, and policy development.
  • Advocacy: Serve as ambassadors for Semiahmoo Family Place, championing our mission and values within the community, industry, and among stakeholders.
  • Financial Oversight: Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring, ensuring the organization’s financial health and sustainability.
  • Resource Development: Support fundraising initiatives and help identify opportunities for growth and financial support.
  • Committee Work: Engage in the work of board committees, providing expertise in areas such as governance, finance, strategy, or fundraising.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Extensive experience in your field or industry, with a track record of success and achievement.
  • A passion for supporting the needs of families in our community.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous board experience or nonprofit involvement is highly valued but not mandatory.
  • Time: you will expected to volunteer at least five hours a month of your time.
