We are looking for a new creative, empathetic, dynamic individual to join our team as a
Family Place Facilitator
Are you a creative spirit with a passion for igniting family connections, nurturing resilience, and empowering families to thrive? As a Family Place Facilitator for SFP, a cherished non-profit family resource and drop-in center in South Surrey, you’ll be the guide for creating moments of joy and resilience. As part of a dynamic and passionate staff team, the Semiahmoo Family Place Facilitator plays a pivotal role in contributing ideas, skills, and enthusiasm to further the mission of Semiahmoo Family Place. Your role is to design and lead engaging activities, inspire lifelong learning, and foster an inclusive and supportive community where all feel welcome. Our facilitators provide essential support to families by offering information, referrals, education, and fostering strong attachment & play between caregivers and their children. We also are passionate about creating a sense of community and belonging for our communities’ families.

Our mission is to connect families through play, learning, and to provide a safe and nurturing environment where the extraordinary within the ordinary is discovered. As a Family Place Facilitator, you’ll be the catalyst for joy, creativity, connectivity and resilience, weaving stories of empowerment for our families. For over 28 years, SFP has been a cornerstone of our community, connecting families through play. We’re located in the heritage building at Kensington Prairie Community Centre, where we offer a variety of programs to help children develop their social, emotional, and physical skills while parents and caregivers connect, share experiences, and access resources.

Job Type: Part-time
Wage: $17 – $22 per hour starting wage (depending on relevant experience/education, ECE certification preferred)
Hours: initially Saturday mornings 9-30–12.30 plus on-call hours, with more hours & days potentially available in 2024.
